Gwangju Shinsegae Eye Clinic has introduced the VIVA ICL, which can correct both myopia and presbyopia simultaneously, for the first time in Honam.

Gwangju Shinsegae Eye Clinic announced that it has introduced the 'Viva ICL' presbyopia correction lens, the first of its kind in Honam. The hospital explained that this allows simultaneous correction of myopia and presbyopia, and the surgery has been successfully completed.

According to Gwangju Shinsegae Eye Clinic, the 'EVO VIVA ICL' is a next-generation vision correction lens that enables presbyopia correction in addition to myopia correction through lens implantation surgery called 'EVO ICL,' which inserts a lens inside the eye to correct myopia. It is a posterior chamber lens inserted between the iris and the crystalline lens without iris incision, suitable for patients over 40 who want to correct both myopia and presbyopia while maintaining the accommodative power of the crystalline lens.

The EVO VIVA ICL applies the EDOP design principle, which gathers incoming light from outside to a single point, deepening the depth of focus, thereby securing continuous vision from far distance to intermediate and near distances.
