Chuncheon City Public Health Center Selected as an Excellent Institution for the National Nutrition Management Plan
Recognized for Efforts in Citizen Health Management Including Enactment of the 'Chuncheon City Nutrition Management Ordinance'

Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 1st that Chuncheon City Public Health Center was selected as an excellent institution for the National Nutrition Management Plan and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.

This commendation was awarded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on Nutrition Day to encourage institutions, related organizations, and individuals who have contributed to nutrition-related health promotion projects for national health promotion and to widely recognize their achievements.

On the 1st, Chuncheon City Public Health Center was selected as an excellent institution for the National Nutrition Management Plan, received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare, and was awarded 1 million won as a prize. The staff are taking a commemorative photo.

According to Chuncheon City, the Chuncheon City Public Health Center enacted the ‘Chuncheon City Nutrition Management Ordinance’ last May. Since then, it has worked hard on public campaigns and environmental creation for national dietary life and nutrition promotion, community-tailored nutrition management, and infrastructure development.

As of August this year, the number of beneficiaries of the Nutrition Plus Project at Chuncheon City Public Health Center is 3,506, and the number of participants in the obesity prevention management class is 200. In addition, 11 project briefings and 59 nutrition education sessions for improving nutritional status were conducted. In particular, it received favorable reviews for operating a health care playground for healthy dietary habits for children and adolescents.

Besides this, Chuncheon City Public Health Center made efforts to raise awareness of dietary changes among local residents and improve community-tailored nutrition management services. It is also evaluated to have greatly contributed to the health promotion and quality of life improvement of local residents.

As a result of being selected as an excellent institution, Chuncheon City Public Health Center received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare along with a prize of 1 million won.
