The Cheongsong Apple Festival is captivating residents and tourists alike with its diverse programs, once again proving itself as the best festival in South Korea.
The 18th Cheongsong Apple Festival, which began on October 30, kicked off with a grand Cheongsong Cultural Festival on the first day, drawing a large crowd. On the following day, the Cheongsong Golden Apple Pear National High School Wrestling Championship was held, adding more excitement to the festival.
In addition, various experiential programs such as the Cheongsong Golden Bell Apple Olympics Triathlon, Challenge - Apple Sorting Lotto, Fun - Apple Nanta, and Universal Gravitation - Find the Golden Apple have been thriving daily, offering visitors unique enjoyment.
Every night, the ongoing performance programs invite both residents and tourists to enjoy the pleasures of autumn evenings. Especially on October 31 at 6 p.m., a large audience gathered for the ‘Hello Concert Good Day’ featuring popular trot singers such as Jang Minho, Kim Yeonja, Maijin, and Seo Jio, surprising festival organizers.
On the third day, November 1, various events such as the ‘Senior Hanmadang,’ ‘Elderly Singing Contest,’ and youth musical performances took place. From 6 p.m., famous singers including Son Taejin, Jung Seoju, and Woo Yeonyi will take the stage to further heat up the festival atmosphere.
On the fourth day, Saturday, November 2, major events like the ‘Cheongsong Apple Parade’ and the ‘Cheongsong Flower Stringing National Competition’ are scheduled. From 6 p.m., performances from the World Confucian Culture Festival featuring Park Jihyun, Park Seojin, and Park Mikyung will be held.
On the final day of the festival, November 3, the Cheongsong Residents Singing Contest will be held with invited singers Kim Heejae, Kim Dahyun, Oh Yujin, and Lee Sona performing. At 6 p.m., a spectacular fireworks display will mark the grand finale of the festival.
Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, “Cheongsong is emerging as a hot tourist destination with various festival programs themed around Cheongsong apples, sports competitions, and large-scale performances happening one after another. We have established a task force and a reporting center to eradicate overcharging, creating a safe festival environment. We hope families will fully enjoy the Cheongsong Apple Festival together.”
