Born in '93 but claimed to be born in '94, Han So-hee... "Paused studies for 1 year due to mother's wanted status"

The Real Reason for Falsifying Age
Correction from 1994 to 1993 Birth Year

Actor Han So-hee, previously known to be born in 1994, has been revealed to have been born in 1993.

Earlier, Han So-hee faced suspicions of lying about her age after an interview from 2017, in which she stated she was born in 1993, circulated widely. The suspicion grew when Han So-hee purchased a penthouse located in the Archiwool Artists' Village in Guri-si, Gyeonggi Province, last August. This was because the official registry of the penthouse listed Han So-hee's birth year as 1993.

According to the entertainment media outlet 'Ten Asia' on the 31st, it was confirmed that Han So-hee was indeed born in 1993. On that day, the media reported on the reasons why Han So-hee had not been able to reveal her actual age. The background involved significant family circumstances. Her agency, 9ato Entertainment, explained that Han So-hee had to suspend her studies for a year during elementary school due to her mother's fraud charges.

The agency stated, "When she was about to enter the 4th grade of elementary school, she was forced to move to Ulsan due to her mother's being wanted by authorities," adding, "She spent a year at home without attending school, and after her mother was incarcerated, she returned to Wonju and re-enrolled in the 4th grade."

Meanwhile, Han So-hee's mother, Ms. Shin, was detained by prosecutors on September 2 on charges of operating an illegal gambling establishment. Ms. Shin is accused of running 12 illegal gambling sites in Ulsan, Wonju, and other locations from 2021 until the end of last month, using so-called "front men." It was reported that Ms. Shin had previously paid a fine for the same charges and had been sued multiple times for fraud and other offenses.

Regarding this matter, Han So-hee's agency, 9ato Entertainment, released an official statement on September 3, saying, "The issues related to Han So-hee's mother are deeply personal matters caused by her mother’s actions. Han So-hee herself was devastated upon learning about these through the news and cannot express her feelings adequately."
