'Emergency Joint Meeting of Regional Chairpersons and Members of the National Assembly'

The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 1st that it has reaffirmed its determination regarding the 'National Rally to Condemn Kim Geon-hee's State Power Abuse' scheduled for the 2nd.

On the same day, at the 'Emergency Joint Meeting of Regional Chairpersons and Members of the National Assembly' held at the National Assembly, the party adopted a resolution to complete the 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act.' The resolution included contents such as initiating nationwide action reflecting the people's desire to judge the government, completing the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act to investigate the truth behind the state power abuse, and achieving victory against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

It is reported that about 190 members of the National Assembly and regional chairpersons who attended the meeting jointly explored strategies to fight against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

At this meeting, the Democratic Party pointed out that the Presidential Office is issuing false explanations regarding allegations of interference in candidate nominations, based on the phone call content between President Yoon Seok-yeol and Mr. Myeong Tae-gyun, which was disclosed the previous day.

The Presidential Office explained through a notice that "President Yoon never received reports related to candidate nominations from the Candidate Management Committee, nor did he give any instructions regarding nominations, and the phone call content was not particularly memorable or important."

Lee Jae-myung, the party leader, said at the Supreme Council meeting that day, "The situation is very serious, and even in this grave situation, instead of making efforts to regain public support, to say that regardless of what the people say, whether they support or not, I will go my own way, is not that the attitude of a dictator?"
