Shin Won-sik: "Fake peace relying on the enemy's goodwill is a sandcastle... Seeking close response to Russia and North Korea"

Shin Won-sik, Director of the National Security Office, emphasized on the 1st, "The only way to maintain peace is to strengthen our power," adding, "Fake peace that relies on the enemy's goodwill is like a sandcastle."

Director Shin attended the National Assembly's Steering Committee audit on the same day and stated, "Our government is rapidly advancing measures to secure robust security and strong military power."

He explained, "There are still many challenges ahead of us, including North Korea's ongoing provocations and threats, the close military ties between Russia and North Korea, and the upcoming U.S. presidential election in a few days. The National Security Office is proactively verifying all possible scenarios and seeking response measures that align with our national interests."

He continued, "We will do our best to ensure that our citizens do not feel anxious and can focus on their daily lives."

Director Shin evaluated, "Through the Korea-U.S. Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG), we have achieved the result of integrated extended deterrence between Korea and the U.S. Now, the Korea-U.S. alliance has been upgraded to a genuine nuclear-based alliance."

He also revealed, "We have accelerated the establishment of the Korean-style three-axis system and created the Strategic Command, significantly enhancing our military's capabilities to counter North Korea's nuclear weapons and missiles."

Regarding the Czech nuclear power plant contract and the largest-ever defense export achievements, he said, "This is a remarkable accomplishment achieved together by our companies, government, and the people."
