Chef Kang Seung-won, who appeared as a 'Triple Star' on Netflix's "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War" (hereinafter "Black and White Chef"), has been accused of embezzlement in the course of business.

On the 31st, a netizen named A posted a message titled "Triple Star accused of embezzlement in the course of business, police investigation requested" on an online community. A said, "Recently, there was a revelation from Triple Star's ex-wife," adding, "The ex-wife claims that she discovered late that he had sent part of the restaurant's funds to his parents, which led to their divorce." He further stated, "I am informing that a request for investigation into Triple Star's alleged embezzlement under Article 356 of the Criminal Act has been filed with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul through the National Police Agency's online civil complaint system." Along with this, he attached a screenshot from the National Police Agency showing that the complaint was received by the Gangnam Police Station.

Earlier, on the morning of the 30th, entertainment media Dispatch reported on the situation between Chef Kang and his ex-wife B, revealing a letter of apology he wrote to her. The letter included statements such as "I watched a female customer dressed provocatively sitting through the closed-circuit television (CCTV)," "I am trash. I did something I should never have done to someone I loved deeply and who gave me immense love," and "I demanded she sleep with another man because of my desires." Additionally, B mentioned that she had used her connections to help Chef Kang get a job at a restaurant in the United States and even gifted him a luxury handbag to gain favor.

Following the report, YouTuber and former entertainment reporter Lee Jin-ho cited B's words, claiming that Chef Kang also misappropriated the restaurant's funds. According to the content, B invested 150 million won in Kang's restaurant, but due to ongoing deficits, Kang secretly sent part of the funds to his parents, which B discovered. Lee explained, "This deepened the couple's conflicts, broke their trust, and eventually led to their divorce."

Meanwhile, Chef Kang appeared on "Black and White Chef" as part of the Black Spoon team and finished in third place. He is a former sous chef at 'Mosoo,' a restaurant owned by Chef An Seong-jae, and currently operates the fine dining restaurant 'Tread' in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
