Promoting Major Busan Education Policies to Build Consensus on Overcoming Low Birthrate
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the ‘Children Are Happiness. Busan’ event over two days on the 1st and 2nd at the Sky Theater and outdoor plaza of the Busan Cinema Center.
Co-hosted with Busan City, this event is a low birthrate response campaign under the theme of ‘A City Good for Raising and Educating Children.’
The event features a variety of attractions and activities including lectures by childcare experts and celebrities, open talk shows, education policy promotions, experience booths, and performances.
On the 1st at 2:30 PM, invited lectures will be held at the Sky Theater with Professor Chosunmi from Ajou University and actress Shin Aera giving talks. On the 2nd, there will be an ‘Open Talk Show’ with writers Gu Chaehee and Yoo Jungim, as well as the popular ‘Pinkfong and Ttunteun Teacher’s Dance Party’ for children.
Additionally, various side events such as a balloon & bubble show, children’s puppet theater, and a children’s happiness costume parade are prepared.
The Busan Office of Education will operate the ‘Busan Education Empathy Zone and Public Education Change Zone’ to share excellent Busan education policy achievements with citizens and provide students with diverse experiential activities through booth operations.
Through this, they plan to intensively promote the ‘Busan-type Public Education Change’ policies leading education in Korea, including academic change, morning change, reading change, and the Busan-style Neulbom School, aimed at overcoming low birthrate by improving public awareness and forming consensus across the city.
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “This event will be a great opportunity to build consensus on Busan education policies and spread positive messages responding to the low birthrate. The Office of Education will work closely with related organizations such as Busan City to ensure our children settle in Busan and grow into talents who lead Busan’s development.”
