American Golfweek focused on Volvik's transformation. Under the title "Don't judge a ball by its appearance," it covered Volvik in detail. The publication stated, "If you are a golfer, you have probably heard of or seen Volvik. You may have seen the soaring balls at the World Long Drive Championship," adding, "You probably know Volvik as a Korean product that uses a flashy matte finish. You may have even played with Volvik balls."
Volvik has been undergoing a major transformation since this year. It launched Condor, a premium urethane golf ball that is the first domestically produced brand to be entirely developed and manufactured with 100% in-house technology. The publication reported, "In recent years, the company has refocused on R&D and manufacturing processes. At the end of last year, it opened a state-of-the-art ball factory equipped with automation and eco-friendly production improvements."
Volvik led the golf ball market with various colors and finishes themed around popular movie series. Now, it is moving beyond that phase to focus more on performance. It is releasing tour-level products that players can trust. Volvik’s Condor line features a softer feel compared to its predecessors. Various amateur golfers can experience optimized performance tailored to their swing speeds. Golfweek recommended, "Condor uses a cast urethane cover for greenside spin control. The 4-piece Condor X offers the highest spin performance. The 3-piece Condor is suitable for players seeking longer distance and side spin forgiveness."
Condor is equipped with White Carbon technology, which increases ball speed. The publication explained, "Volvik’s White Carbon delays the aging of the rubber. It is the secret to maintaining performance longer." Condor is made in white for golfers who prefer traditional balls. There are no colored balls as seen in Volvik’s Vivid line. However, Optic Yellow and High Vis Green are available.
The existing balls also received high praise. Golfweek said, "If you want to go farther, enjoy more, and stand out with Volvik balls, Vivid and Vivid Combi are the best choices. These 3-piece balls offer excellent distance. The patented matte finish improves visibility and increases spin for greenside performance," adding, "Volvik’s soft feel matte coating leads to greater elasticity. Due to strong surface adhesion, it boasts superior durability compared to competitors."
The publication expressed great expectations for Volvik. "Volvik is the only global golf company without headquarters in the U.S. or Japan. This has helped promote its proud Korean heritage. The name Volvik reveals this: ‘Vol’ is short for the Italian word ‘Volare,’ meaning ‘to fly,’ ‘vi’ stands for victory, and ‘k’ represents Korea."
