Community Coexistence and Cooperation... Wolseong Headquarters Holds 5th Communication Committee Meeting

On the 29th, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Wolseong Headquarters held the '5th Wolseong Headquarters Nuclear Power Communication Committee Meeting for 2024.'

The Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolsong Headquarters held the 5th Wolsong Headquarters Nuclear Communication Committee meeting for 2024 on the 29th.

This meeting provided an opportunity to share and communicate about the major community coexistence cooperation activities carried out in September and October.

The main agenda items included: ① The '2025 KHNP Support Project Contest' for areas surrounding the power plant, ② The 8th Munmu Daewang Cultural Festival, a cultural festival in East Gyeongju, ③ The 6th Yangnam Columnar Joint One-Heart Festival, ④ A support agreement to revitalize the Na-a and Nasan shopping districts in Yangnam-myeon, ⑤ Wolseong Park Golf Course, and ⑥ The signing of a mutual development pledge with the village chiefs' councils of Munmu Daewang-myeon and Gampo-eup, totaling six agenda items.

At the meeting, there was particular interest in the Wolseong Park Golf Course. Starting this year, for the 2025 KHNP Support Project Contest, the office operated both offline and online application methods for the first time, resulting in a 34% increase in applications compared to the previous year.

The submitted support projects will undergo a review process, and the final decision on project approval is expected by the end of December.

Kim Han-seong, head of Wolseong Headquarters, stated, “We will continue to explore and support projects that are practical and tangible to local residents, and strive to promote coexistence with the community. We will also smoothly proceed with the continued operation of the power plant to lead regional development.”

The Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters Communication Committee has held six regular meetings annually since its inception in 2013, sharing major updates of the Wolseong Headquarters, empathizing with local committee members, and promoting coexistence and development with the community.
