Changwon Companies Discuss Local Expansion Plans for Participation in Czech Nuclear Power Export
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Metropolitan City, Gyeongnam, visited Doosan ?koda Power in the Czech Republic on the 29th (local time) and received explanations from officials about the export nuclear power plants, SMRs (Small Modular Reactors), and the local European market.

He then discussed specific participation plans for companies within the Changwon region to meet the localization production ratio guidelines presented by the Czech government.
Doosan ?koda Power, acquired by Doosan Enerbility in 2009, is a company with world-class technology in the steam and gas turbine fields. It has supplied more than 540 steam turbines to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, and other countries, and is expected to supply key equipment for future nuclear power plant construction projects in the Czech Republic.
Mayor Hong stated, “Going forward, Changwon Metropolitan City plans to provide comprehensive support for regional companies to obtain certifications and participate in the Czech nuclear power supply chain.”
On the 31st, Mayor Hong is scheduled to visit Leonardo, a global defense company in Italy, to discuss various cooperation possibilities in the defense and mobility sectors.
