Citizen High-Class Cultural Lecture... Pohang Steelworks Master Son Byeongrak's Lecture, 'The Path We Must Walk Together'

Cumulative 217 Sessions, Over 17,000 Participants in Lectures

POSTECH Future Intelligence Academy held a special lecture on the 30th, inviting Master Son Byeong-rak from Pohang Steelworks.

This lecture was the third session in the ‘World of Work’ series, attended by about 170 employees and citizens.

The Future Intelligence Academy, an educational institution under POSTECH, has collaborated with POSCO to offer various cultural lectures annually for employees and citizens in the Pohang and Gwangyang regions.

In the first half of this year, nine humanities lectures provided an opportunity to broaden the humanities knowledge of 626 POSCO employees and 2,082 citizens.

The second half program is being conducted under the theme ‘World of Work,’ where six experts from various social fields, including entrepreneurs, professors, and writers, share their growth stories and wisdom about work.

Master Son Byeong-rak from Pohang Steelworks, the third lecturer in the ‘World of Work’ series, delivered a lecture titled ‘The Path I Must Take, The Path We Must Take Together.’

In his lecture, Master Son emphasized that the people who change the world are those who work with us, so it is very important what kind of thoughts and goals we have while working.

POSTECH Future Intelligence Academy plans to continue the follow-up lectures of ‘World of Work’ until the end of this year, with upcoming lectures in November including Professor Noh Jun-seok of POSTECH’s Department of Mechanical Engineering’s ‘The Work and Life of a Scientist’ and voice actor Lee Da-seul’s ‘This Kind of Life Is Also Okay.’

In December, actor Park Shin-yang will give a special lecture as a writer under the theme ‘The Fourth Wall: The Path of a Painter.’

Representatives from POSTECH and POSCO stated, “We will continue to prepare richer and more meaningful high-quality cultural lectures to strengthen communication with the local community and share knowledge and experiences in various fields with citizens.”

Since 2019, POSTECH Future Intelligence Academy, in collaboration with POSCO, has established itself as a leading cultural and educational lecture series in the region, with a total of 217 sessions and over 17,000 employees and citizens participating in lectures by distinguished figures in various fields such as management, leadership, classical music, and cultural trends over the past five years.
