Gwangju Transportation Corporation and Shinsegae Eye Clinic conducted free ophthalmic examinations for citizens, including medically vulnerable groups, at Geumnamno 4-ga Station in Dong-gu, Gwangju on the 31st.
During the volunteer event, medical staff from Shinsegae Eye Clinic visited the site in person to provide examinations. They conducted various diagnostic activities such as vision tests, cataract screenings, and eye disease examinations targeting low-income individuals, senior citizens, and people with disabilities who are in medical blind spots, receiving great responses.
Since signing the 'Free Ophthalmic Examination Agreement' in 2019, the two organizations have been continuously providing medical volunteer services to local residents. In particular, they have taken the lead in realizing a happy community by delivering donations for the Love Health Staircase project and supporting cataract surgeries for low-income groups.
Jo Ik-moon, President of Gwangju Transportation Corporation, said, “We are grateful to the medical staff of Shinsegae Eye Clinic for bringing warm light to the local residents through free medical examinations,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to become a metropolitan railway that shares hope through various helping hands.”
