By investor type, individuals and institutions were net buyers of 564.2 billion KRW and 330 billion KRW, respectively. In contrast, foreigners were net sellers of 863 billion KRW.
By sector, textiles and apparel surged 2.80%. Food and beverages, and precision medical instruments also rose more than 1%. On the other hand, distribution fell 3.04%. Additionally, steel and metals, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and financial sectors declined more than 2%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 59,200 KRW, up 100 KRW (0.17%) from the previous trading day. Meanwhile, SK Hynix dropped 4.46%. Shinhan Financial Group plunged 5.87%. Samsung Biologics, Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Celltrion also fell more than 2%.
On this day in the KOSPI, Mirae Industry hit the upper price limit, with 473 stocks rising and 405 stocks falling without hitting the lower price limit. 62 stocks closed unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 743.06, up 4.87 points (0.66%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners were net buyers of 149.3 billion KRW. Meanwhile, individuals and institutions were net sellers of 137 billion KRW and 4.1 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, non-metallic minerals, chemicals, transportation, and pharmaceuticals rose more than 1%. Conversely, finance fell 1.26%. Paper and wood, distribution, other services, and medical and precision instruments closed slightly lower.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Alteogen closed at 376,500 KRW, down 2,500 KRW (0.66%) from the previous trading day. Ecopro fell 1.74%. Meanwhile, Samchundang Pharmaceutical surged 6.20%. HPSP rose 4.77%. RIGAChemBio, Enchem, and Celltrion Pharm also closed slightly higher.
In the KOSDAQ, BTEN hit the upper price limit, with 882 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 678 stocks fell without hitting the lower price limit, and 122 stocks closed unchanged.
