Taean Sagu Festival and Street Festival to Open on the 2nd of Next Month

On the 2nd, the Republic of Korea Sand Dune Festival will be held in the Sindusagu area of Wonbuk-myeon.
On the 2nd and 3rd, the Taean Street Festival will take place on Jungang-ro and at the traditional market in Taean-eup.

The '2024 Korea Sand Dune Festival' and the '2024 Taean Street Festival,' both perfect for enjoying autumn in Taean, Chungnam, will open together on November 2.


The '2024 Korea Sand Dune Festival' is an eco-tourism festival where visitors can experience the wonders of Sinduri Coastal Sand Dune, which is designated as a Natural Monument. Sinduri Sand Dune is counted among Taean's top travel destinations, boasting exotic scenery that cannot be found anywhere else in Korea.


The festival will take place for one day on November 2 in the area of Sinduri Coastal Sand Dune in Wonbuk-myeon. If you arrive at the site before 11 a.m., you can register on-site and walk the ecological trail (B Course, 2km) to experience the beauty of the dunes.


In addition to the walking event, various programs such as cover dance performances, Nanta percussion shows, recreation activities, an extreme balloon show, and jazz band performances will be held from 12 p.m. At the experience booths set up on-site, visitors can enjoy face painting, board games, making sand candles, creating sand time capsules, marine life clay art, and photo printing.

The '2024 Taean Street Festival,' which will take place from November 2 to 3 along Jungang-ro and at the traditional market in Taean-eup, is Taean's representative festival that first began in 2002. This year, a variety of events such as food sales, busking, and celebratory performances will be offered to delight participants.


Under the theme 'Taean Street, Ancient Future - Coexisting in Many Playgrounds (Gongzone),' various events will be held, each with its own story, including busking in each zone, traditional yard plays, and photo exhibitions. There will also be experiential programs such as a silver fashion show, treasure hunt, and 'Find the Best Restaurant,' promising a lively and exciting festival.


An official from the county said, "As autumn deepens, a variety of festivals for residents and tourists are being prepared in Taean, the representative resort and tourist destination of the west coast," and added, "We hope many people will visit Taean and fully enjoy the charm of autumn."
