This training consisted of safety education on how to operate the shredder and precautions during shredding work, as well as practical training on the shredding process.

The crop residue safe disposal support project, which is being implemented for the first time this year, is operated by the Geochang-gun Agricultural Council with support from Geochang-gun, and starting from November 1, shredding support teams composed of four teams of two people each will be active in each eup and myeon.

Farmers who wish to have their crop residues shredded can submit an application to the respective eup or myeon office throughout the year, and the shredding support team will visit the farmland directly to shred leftover crop residues such as chili pepper stalks, perilla stalks, and fruit tree branches free of charge.

Governor Gu In-mo said, “By utilizing crop residues as compost through shredding instead of burning, it is expected that fine dust will be reduced and forest fires can be prevented,” adding, “We will do our best to create a safe and clean agricultural environment.”
