Gwanak-gu Supports Turnaround Management for Traditional Market Stores

Recruitment for 'Traditional Market Store Turnaround Management Support Project' until November 10... Total 122 million KRW invested for management consulting and facility improvement support for 40 small business stores in local traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts, approximately 2 million KRW per store

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is promoting the 'Traditional Market Store Turnaround Management Support Project' to support small business owners in traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts who are struggling due to the economic recession.

The 'Turnaround Management Support Project' is a program that provides both management consulting and facility improvements for small business stores in traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts.

The district has been implementing this project since 2022 to strengthen the overall competitiveness and revitalize not only individual stores facing difficulties in the area but also the entire traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts.

The finally selected stores can receive customized consulting on overall management, including ▲marketing ▲customer management ▲store operations, and depending on the consulting results and the needs of each store, support for improving the business environment of aging store facilities is also provided.

In particular, this year, a total project budget of 122 million KRW will be invested to support management consulting and facility improvements worth about 2 million KRW per business for 40 stores in the region.

Additionally, among the supported stores, 10 will be selected for a pilot project to additionally support the creation of QR-mobile pages, expanding support to online sales channels.

The application period is until November 10, and the eligible applicants are small business stores in traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts within the region. However, ▲unhealthy industries ▲non-store businesses ▲closed or suspended businesses ▲stores that have benefited from similar projects within the last three years are excluded from eligibility.

The district will conduct a document review by the screening committee regarding overall management status such as opening year and sales, and will individually notify the final selection results in November.

Mayor Park Junhee said, “I hope this project will breathe new life into the depressed traditional markets during these difficult economic times and provide some support to small business stores. We will promote the project to ensure that stores with vulnerable management environments receive priority benefits as much as possible.”
