A patient with mobility issues was forced to visit a bank in Shandong Province, China, while still lying on a hospital bed because the bank required the account holder to be present in person to withdraw money. On the 26th (local time), Chinese media such as Sina News reported the story of elderly Mr. A, who was hospitalized and had no choice but to visit the bank on his hospital bed on the 24th.

Mr. A's family went to the bank to withdraw funds on his behalf. However, the bank insisted that only the account holder could withdraw the money. Mr. A was bedridden and unable to move due to his poor health condition. The hospital had also prohibited him from leaving the premises out of concern for his health. Despite the family’s detailed explanation of Mr. A’s condition, the bank did not change its stance.

Ultimately, the family could not call a private ambulance, so Mr. A had to be transported to the bank on his hospital bed. Videos posted on online communities and various social media platforms show Mr. A’s family sweating profusely as they push the hospital bed. They appear very anxious about the large bed possibly hitting something as they carefully maneuver it.

Netizens who saw the video reacted with comments such as, "Who will take responsibility if an accident happens like that?", "It’s unavoidable due to identity verification, but this is too much," and "Wouldn’t it be better if the bank staff visited the hospital instead?" On the other hand, some netizens expressed opinions like, "Rules are rules, it can’t be helped," "What if the family withdrew money without the patient’s consent? Doing it this way is correct," and "This case is special, but generally, this is the right approach."
