From its inaugural year, Namyangju FC left a meaningful mark in the K4 League by achieving a league record of 15 consecutive unbeaten matches?the longest streak?and winning the Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival.
Although the team suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat against Seoul Jungnang Football Club in their final match held at Namyangju Sports Complex on the 5th, they concluded the season by expressing gratitude to the fans who came to support them at their home stadium until the very end.
Namyangju FC did not secure a victory until the 5th round after the opening match, but after their first win against FC Sejong, they demonstrated stable performance by tying the league’s longest unbeaten streak record.
In particular, player Lee Jong-yeol ranked 4th in league scoring with 9 goals, and Shin Sang-hwi ranked 4th in assists, playing key roles as the team’s main scorers. Additionally, Namyangju FC shone by winning their first-ever championship in the men’s general division football final (Division 1) at the 70th Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival held last May, earning great support from fans.
Namyangju FC established itself as a fan-friendly club by ranking first in cumulative home attendance this season (7,667 spectators) and average attendance (639 spectators). Various events such as player autograph sessions, Polaroid photo shoots, and escort kids programs before and after matches provided unique enjoyment to fans visiting the home games.
After completing an eight-month-long journey, Namyangju FC plans to take a break, reorganize the squad, and prepare for next season.
Coach Kim Seong-il said, “I am grateful to the players who worked hard together this season, and next season, we will bring even more complete performances to delight our fans.”
Club owner Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, “Thanks to the citizen club owners who passionately supported us by visiting the home stadium, we were able to achieve good results despite it being our inaugural year. I thank the Namyangju FC players and all citizen club owners who safely completed the final match.”
