The 'Festival Development Research Group,' a research organization of the Gwangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, led by Representative Lee Joo-hoon, held a mid-term report meeting on the 'Research Service for Discovering Core Stories of Local Festivals' on the 28th, the 30th announced.

At this mid-term report meeting, following the initial report, a detailed analysis was conducted on the attributes of the three representative festivals of Gwangju City: Namhansanseong, Royal Ceramics, and Tomato.

The main content of this report meeting was how to relate the unique characteristics of each theme, such as their historical and cultural backgrounds, to Gwangju City and incorporate them into the festivals. Based on the report materials, various discussions among the research council members also took place.

Innovative ideas reflecting citizens' suggestions and the thoughts of each council member, gained through experiences with local festivals, were shared, including operating food booths using royal ceramics and hosting tomato cooking contests.

Representative Lee Joo-hoon likened the discussions at this mid-term report meeting to a massive iceberg, conveying a message to discover a facet called storytelling and invigorate the overall Gwangju City festivals.

Meanwhile, the Gwangju City Festival Development Research Group is an internal council organization consisting of seven members: Representative Lee Joo-hoon, and council members Noh Young-jun, Wang Jeong-hoon, Joo Im-rok, Choi Seo-yoon, Heo Kyung-haeng, and Hwang So-je. The research is scheduled to be completed by December this year.
