In the opening note of the day, Woowa Brothers’ Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Song Jae-ha and Benjamin Man, CTO of Delivery Hero (DH), took the stage sequentially to introduce Woowa Brothers’ IT talent development and the technological exchange between the two companies. CTO Song said, “Woowa Brothers, which has undergone rapid technological growth so far, aims to jump to another level,” adding, “We will create opportunities for our talents and capabilities to be active globally so that the products made by Woowa Brothers can be used worldwide.”

CTO Song also mentioned Woowa Tech Course, which contributes to the development of the technology ecosystem. Woowa Tech Course is a developer talent education program implemented by Woowa Brothers since 2019, discovering talents with practical skills through a field-oriented curriculum. So far, among a total of 455 graduates up to the 5th batch, 76% have been employed by leading domestic IT companies and startups. Notably, this year, 17 graduates of Woowa Tech Course joined DH’s headquarters in Germany and the local delivery app Talabat in the United Arab Emirates, actively participating on the global stage.

Benjamin Man, DH CTO, said, “Woowa Tech Course demonstrates the outstanding capabilities of young engineers nurtured in Korea,” and added, “Woowa Brothers will continue to show a pioneering spirit that becomes the cornerstone of future technologies and leads new solutions.”

Han Dong-hoon, Technical Director of Woowa Brothers’ Data Science Group, presented cases of productivity improvement using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), as well as global cooperation with DH. Han said, “Through AI, we are enhancing technology and functions so that employees can perform their tasks efficiently and save customers’ time.” He also explained examples such as AI that detects review images containing inappropriate elements like personal information exposure, and AI that automatically adjusts low-quality or compositionally non-compliant food photos on store menus.

Han then introduced Mandao, developed in-house by Baemin, as a case of Woowa Brothers’ global cooperation and technology export. Mandao is a web editor program that allows easy implementation of marketing promotion pages within the app with just a click. It integrates the entire process of marketing promotion development, including coupon application, image upload, and server deployment, enabling workers to create easier and more intuitive results.
