Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Awards Plaques for 'Excellent Registered Campsites'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 30th that they have selected twenty outstanding public campgrounds. They plan to award the “Excellent Registered Campground” plaques and post introduction articles on the Korea Tourism Organization's Go Camping website.
The outstanding public campgrounds were selected by category: fifteen family-friendly sites, two sites considerate of transportation-disadvantaged individuals, two eco-friendly sites, and two pet-friendly sites.
Hakdong Auto Campground in Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do operates caravans exclusively for infants and threshold-free caravans, earning selection in both the family-friendly and transportation-disadvantaged considerate categories.
Deogyudae Campground in Deogyusan, Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, equipped with barrier-free caravans, barrier-free trails, and Braille maps, was selected alongside Hakdong Auto Campground as a transportation-disadvantaged considerate campground.
Pet-friendly campgrounds include Jeongseon Ecological Experience Learning Center Pet Camping Site in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do. Eco-friendly campgrounds include Sagimak Campground in Bukhansan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Sagimak Campground in Bukhansan is a carbon-neutral campground that only allows vehicles emitting no air pollutants.
