Ulsan City Holds Opening Ceremony of Ulsan Youth Future Center

Support for Family Care, Isolated and Reclusive Youth on the 30th

The 'Ulsan Youth Future Center,' a dedicated support institution for vulnerable youth such as young caregivers, isolated and reclusive youth in the Ulsan area, is opening its doors.

On October 30th at 3 PM, Ulsan City announced that it will hold the opening ceremony of the Ulsan Youth Future Center on the 5th floor of the Lucky Building in Jung-gu and begin full-scale operations.

The opening ceremony will be attended by about 30 people, including Mayor Kim Du-gyeom, Acting Chairperson of the City Council Kim Jong-seop, and Deputy Superintendent Yeom Gi-seong of the Ulsan Office of Education. The event will include a progress report, project introduction, ribbon-cutting ceremony, and facility tour.

The main facilities include an education room, program room, private counseling space, and offices. The Ulsan Welfare Family Promotion Social Service Center will manage and operate the center on a consignment basis until the end of next year during the pilot project period.

Earlier, Ulsan City was selected in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's public contest in April and began operations on July 23rd. Following the establishment of the service website in August, completion of dedicated staff recruitment in September, and creation of youth program spaces in October, the opening ceremony is now being held.

Youth in need of assistance can apply for support via phone or through the Ministry of Health and Welfare's pilot project website.

Mayor Kim Du-gyeom stated, "There are 640,000 youth nationwide who have chosen isolation from society, which leads to problems not only for individuals but for society as a whole. We ask for your great interest and support so that young people with infinite potential can overcome current difficulties and envision a better future."

Currently, the Youth Future Center has 14 professionals who collaborate with related institutions such as universities and hospitals to identify target youth and provide continuous close case management until they achieve stable independence.
