Kim Min-jae Estimated to Split at Least 8 Billion Won in Assets with Ex-Wife

Soccer player Kim Min-jae (27, Bayern Munich), who faced a breakup after 4 years of marriage, is speculated to have divided at least 8 billion KRW worth of assets to his ex-wife.
Inheritance specialist lawyer Woo Kang-il (Law Office Kang-il) predicted in a video uploaded on YouTube on the 24th that Kim Min-jae likely paid his ex-wife at least 8 billion KRW for asset division and child support.
Lawyer Woo estimated the scale of asset division assuming Kim Min-jae shared only his 'annual salary income' with his ex-wife, excluding other assets. According to foreign media, Kim Min-jae earned an annual salary of 3.5 million euros (about 4.2 billion KRW) at Beijing Guoan, 2.35 million euros (3.5 billion KRW) at Fenerbahce, 4.63 million euros (6.8 billion KRW) at Napoli, and about 12 million euros (17.6 billion KRW) at Munich. Simply adding these up, it is estimated that Kim Min-jae earned about 32.1 billion KRW in salary alone over the past 4 years. Including advertising, allowances, and sponsorship income, his total earnings are expected to be even higher.
Based on this salary, lawyer Woo estimated the asset division scale, analyzing that "Considering the young child and their life together in China and Europe, the assets are likely to be divided in an 80:20 or 70:30 ratio." Based on this, it is predicted that Kim Min-jae took 22.4 to 25.6 billion KRW, and his ex-wife took 6.4 to 9.6 billion KRW. He also explained, "The fact that the divorce was finalized through mutual agreement means the ex-wife reached a financially satisfactory settlement," adding that if she had been dissatisfied, it likely would have led to litigation.
Regarding child support, he said, "Payments are made monthly until the child becomes an adult (age 19), following the Seoul Family Court's calculation standards," and "Considering Kim Min-jae's high income, it is possible that an agreement was made for about 10 million KRW per month until elementary school graduation, and about 12 million KRW per month thereafter." However, he emphasized that this is an estimate based on salary and may vary depending on the actual asset size.
Kim Min-jae married in May 2020 while playing for Beijing Guoan in China and has one daughter. On the 21st, Kim Min-jae's agency, which announced the breakup news, stated, "After careful discussion, they decided to end their marriage, and the divorce process was completed through amicable agreement," adding, "The two decided to end the marriage due to personality differences and agreed to support each other's future."
