Noru Paint announced on the 30th that it has signed a multilateral memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote the ‘Development and Demonstration Project of Ultra-Differentiated Technology for Aerospace and Defense Sealant Materials.’
The signing ceremony, held on the 24th at Yangsan City Hall located in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do, was attended by a total of seven organizations including Noru Paint. The participating organizations are Gyeongsangnam-do, Yangsan City, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), Gyeongnam Technopark, and Saeron Tech.

This agreement was made to ensure the smooth promotion and achievement of results for the development and demonstration project of ultra-differentiated technology for aerospace and defense sealant materials. Participating companies will accelerate efforts to localize the aerospace and defense materials industry and enter the global market through mutual cooperation.
Aerospace and defense sealants, which are used as core functional materials in aircraft manufacturing and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), have so far been entirely imported due to restrictions on technology transfer from overseas. Domestic demand sectors have continuously raised the need for localization. Since these sealants must maintain consistent performance even under repeated exposure to extreme environments such as ultra-low and ultra-high temperatures, they require top-level performance that differentiates them from general industrial sealant materials.
Noru Paint began work this year on the ‘Development of Sealant Products for Fuel Tank Protection and Corrosion Prevention in Harsh Environments Applied to Airframes.’ It is also conducting technology development and demonstration tasks in collaboration with KAI, a representative demand company.
A Noru Paint official stated, "The developed technology will become a high value-added business that can be expanded and applied to various fields such as railroads, ships, construction, automobiles, and future air mobility," adding, "Through mutual cooperation with the partner companies in this agreement, we plan to secure ultra-differentiated technology in the aerospace and defense materials industry."
