Seoul Metro Selects Jewish Train Operator as This Year’s ‘Best Train Operator’

Seoul Metro announced on the 30th that it held the 2024 Best Train Operator Selection Contest, selecting six outstanding employees, and among them, Mr. Yoo Tae-in, who works at the Sanggye Train Operation Office on Line 4, was chosen as the '2024 Best Train Operator.'


The company selects the best train operator annually among employees in the operation field. This year's Best Train Operator Selection Contest was held with contestants selected through preliminaries from 15 operation offices, one from each office.


In the theoretical evaluation, technical aspects of each line's train and operational regulations such as driving handling rules were assessed. The practical evaluation tested driving skills including stopping position, brake handling, speed control, and the ability to respond to train malfunctions within the depot.


Mr. Yoo Tae-in, selected as this year's Best Train Operator, is a 17-year veteran who joined in 2007 and works at the Sanggye Train Operation Office. Mr. Yoo expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am thankful to the director and the staff at the office who have given me much support," and added, "I will continue to feel a sense of responsibility as Seoul Metro's Best Train Operator and strive to provide the best service to citizens."


The award ceremony was held on the 29th at the company's Sindap Annex. Mr. Yoo received the Best Train Operator badge and prize money, along with a mayoral commendation. Two recipients of the Excellence Award received prize money and the president's commendation, and three recipients of the Encouragement Award received the president's commendation.


Ki Gwang-hwan, head of the company's Operation Headquarters, stated, "We will strengthen the capabilities of all our operators to become the best train operators, ensuring customer safety through safe and prompt actions in emergencies and striving for customer satisfaction service."
