Dongducheon-si Successfully Concludes 2024 Hello DDC Festival

Dongducheon City has been hosting the 5th Urban Regeneration Night Festival, "2024 Hello DDC Festival," at the Bosan-dong Tourist District from the 26th to the 27th.

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 29th that the 5th Urban Regeneration Night Festival, '2024 Hello DDC Festival,' held over two days from the 26th to the 27th in the Bosan-dong Tourist District, was successfully concluded.

Hosted by Dongducheon City and organized by the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, this festival offered a variety of attractions including a hip-hop concert, street art parade titled ‘Dongducheon Blossoms into Flowers,’ Design Art Village workshop events, exhibition and experience booths.

The street art parade performance on the first day opened the festival. Art groups such as ‘1980 Dongducheon Girls' Commercial High School Legend Honor Guard,’ ‘Art Stage San,’ ‘Korean Puppet Theater Cooperative,’ ‘Taerang Society,’ and ‘Sambaracha’ participated. In particular, the parade featuring large puppet theater sculptures caught the visitors’ attention.

Main programs included free craft experiences at the Design Art Village, one-day tattoo experiences, Monobox photo experiences, and prehistoric tent-making workshops. The Gyeonggi Content Agency operated a content experience exhibition at the Northern Gyeonggi Cultural Creation Hub.

During the two-day main concert, leading domestic hip-hop artists such as ‘Zion.T,’ ‘BewhY,’ and ‘Dynamic Duo’ delivered passionate performances, receiving great responses from the audience.

Mayor Park Hyung-deok expressed, “This festival was a great opportunity not only to revitalize the local commercial district but also to promote Dongducheon to tourists.”
