"Seeking Policy Alternatives Based on the Actual Conditions of Families with Disabilities"

Jeong Da-eun, a member of the Gwangju City Council (Democratic Party·Buk-gu 2), announced on the 29th that she held the "Gwangju City Disabled Family Support Policy Forum" in the city council's main conference room on the 28th.
Hosted by Councilor Jeong and organized by the Gwangju Disabled Family Support Center, with cooperation from the Department of Special Education at Chosun University, the forum was arranged to discuss policy alternatives based on the actual conditions of families with disabled members.
Professor Jeong Ji-hee (Department of Special Education, Chosun University), who gave the presentation, explained the results of the "Survey on the Needs and Actual Conditions of Disabled Family Support," then presented the role of the Gwangju Disabled Family Support Center and the future direction the center should take.
The subsequent discussion included Kim Yoo-sun, director of the Gwangju Disabled Family Support Center; Park Ryeo-hyung, deputy of the Gwangju Disabled Rights Advocacy Agency; Yoon Young-ae, head nurse of Our Neighborhood Clinic at the Gwangju Medical Welfare Social Cooperative; Park Bin-hee, officer of the Integrated Care and Case Management Team at Gwangsan District Office; and Nam Mi-seon, director of the Disabled Welfare Division of Gwangju City.
Councilor Jeong said, "This forum was a meaningful time to understand the actual conditions of families with disabled members and the difficulties they face," adding, "Based on this, we will do our best to prepare practical and effective policy alternatives so that families with disabled members can enjoy a better life."
