E8 Begins Supplying Digital Twin Solutions for Tashkent Smart City Development

E8 announced on the 29th that Khen Aleksey, Vice President of Uzbekistan IT PARK, visited E8 headquarters to concretize Uzbekistan's smart city project.

In June of this year, the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan visited E8. In September, E8 directly visited Uzbekistan to conduct detailed discussions for building a local smart city. Vice President Khen Aleksey's visit this time is an important occasion to finalize the scope and content of the detailed smart city project and to sign direct contracts.

Uzbekistan is developing a smart city for the new city of Tashkent on a scale of 3 million square meters (approximately 900,000 pyeong). The budget for this project amounts to about 1.5 billion dollars. This is an essential measure to respond to the rapid population influx in Tashkent, the most populous city in Central Asia. This project is designated as a development project by presidential decree and has strong driving momentum.

The Uzbekistan digital twin supply project, jointly carried out by E8 and Uzbekistan IT PARK, is promoted in three major phases. In this meeting, the first phase involves detailed discussions on the PoC (Proof of Concept) for one floor of the Ministry of Digital Technologies building, a government agency leading Uzbekistan's digital innovation and technological advancement.

The Ministry of Digital Technologies is a pivotal institution in building Uzbekistan's smart city, strengthening digital infrastructure through modernization of communication networks and data centers, and enhancing the level of digital technology in line with global technology trends. Supplying E8's digital twin solution to the Ministry of Digital Technologies building holds very significant meaning at the national level. The first phase PoC is planned to proceed for about six months. The next phase will supply a digital twin-based BEMS (Building Energy Management System) solution to the entire new Ministry of Digital Technologies building, scheduled for completion in 2025.

E8 plans to utilize the drawings and 3D BIM models provided by IT PARK as basic information and build the digital twin through local Uzbek companies and IT personnel based on image data captured on-site using the PIX4D solution. The ultimate goal is to strengthen Uzbekistan's IT competitiveness through the collaboration between digital twin company E8 and Uzbekistan IT PARK.

CEO Jin-Hyun Kim said, “E8 will actively expand its digital twin technology throughout Central Asia and Europe using Uzbekistan as a foothold. Through this project, we will further strengthen our position in the global business market.”
