Joo Gwang-deok, mayor of Namyangju City, who joined the relay campaign upon the nomination of Shin Sang-jin, mayor of Seongnam City, said, "I hope that through this campaign, the culture of positive parenting that respects children as they are will widely spread in Namyangju City." He nominated Bang Se-hwan, mayor of Gwangju City, and Seo Eun-kyung, head of the Guri Namyangju Office of Education, as the next participants.
Namyangju City is making various efforts to strengthen the child protection system, including maintaining a 24-hour dedicated child abuse response team, operating a crisis child response team, and conducting joint inspections with related organizations to prevent child abuse.
