Yangju City Introduces Drone Delivery at KINTEX Exhibition Hall...Gaining Massive Popularity

Yangju City attended the "Goyang Drone Urban Air Mobility Expo" held at Ilsan KINTEX from the 23rd to the 25th, introducing Yangju City's drone delivery service.

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 28th that it attended the 'Goyang Drone and Urban Air Mobility Expo' held at KINTEX from the 23rd to the 25th and introduced Yangju City's drone delivery service.

At this expo, the city collaborated with the host, Goyang City, to set up a booth in the joint local government pavilion within the exhibition hall, where delivery drones were displayed, attracting great interest from visitors.

The booth was equipped with VR devices that allowed visitors to experience the VR sky delivery route, providing a special experience as if they themselves had become delivery drones, which gained tremendous popularity within the event venue.

This drone delivery project is being carried out by Yangju City after being selected as a drone demonstration city by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. In collaboration with BCD ENC Co., Ltd., a drone specialized company located in Yangju, the project delivers groceries and other items by drone to designated delivery locations such as Okjeong Lake Park, Hoeamsaji, Jangheung Tourist Site, and Jangheung Natural Recreation Forest. The project is scheduled to continue until November.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “Drone delivery is not simply about delivery but about building an industrial ecosystem that integrates aircraft, infrastructure, and services, creating jobs and driving economic growth as a new industry.” He added, “We will continue to invest to secure future growth industries for establishing Yangju as a self-sufficient city by pioneering the drone delivery market.”
