"Gwangyang Steelworks Will Continue to Walk Together with the Local Community"
POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Dong-ryeol) participated in the multicultural family event "Eoul Hanmadang" hosted by Gwangyang City on the 26th, conducting customized volunteer activities to realize a culture of coexistence with the local community.
The Eoul Hanmadang event, held under the theme "We Are All One" at the Seonghwang Sports Center in Gwangyang City, was attended by about 700 people including Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, Jeong Sang-gyeong, Deputy Director of Gwangyang Steelworks, Choi Dae-won, Chairman of Gwangyang City Council, multicultural families, and citizens.

The Eoul Hanmadang event is held annually under the auspices of the Gwangyang City Family Center to promote harmony and exchange among multicultural families residing in the region and to help them adapt well to the local community.
In particular, the Gwangyang Steelworks Talent Volunteer Group added significance by creating a time for harmony not only with multicultural families but also for local residents to come together during this event.
On this day, eight volunteer groups from Gwangyang Steelworks participated, including ▲woodcraft ▲balloon art ▲Friends ▲calligraphy ▲flower arrangement ▲nail art ▲traffic ▲knitting, providing an opportunity for event attendees, multicultural families, and local residents to communicate together, receiving great response from citizens.
These volunteer groups set up their own booths offering various experiential activities such as face painting and calligraphy font drawing, and practiced a warm sharing culture by delivering products handmade by the volunteer members?such as wooden trays, balloon art items, flower arrangement products, traditional play toys, and handmade scrubbers?to multicultural families.
Jeong Sang-gyeong, Deputy Director of Gwangyang Steelworks, said, “I sincerely hope that this gathering today becomes a hopeful place where we respect each other’s differences and share beautiful cultures together,” adding, “Our Gwangyang Steelworks will continue to participate steadily in various sharing activities as a member walking together with the local community.”
