45 Applications for Road-Related Projects... 80% Increase in Rain This Year
City Budget Project Density Criteria Also Relaxed to 3
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City will significantly expand its corporate environment improvement project next year.
On the 28th, Icheon City announced that a total of 45 companies participated in the '2025 Gyeonggi-do Corporate Environment Improvement Project' submitted to Gyeonggi-do. The city explained that this is an 80% increase compared to the 25 companies that applied for the related project this year.

The 'Corporate Environment Improvement Project' by Gyeonggi-do supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in improving poor infrastructure, fire facilities, labor, and work environments to revitalize the local economy and create jobs.
The project is divided into support categories such as infrastructure improvement including water and sewage systems, labor environment improvements like dormitory, cafeteria, and restroom renovations, and work environment improvements such as floor painting, workbenches, storage racks, and lighting replacements. Regarding Icheon City's project applications for next year by category, there are ▲7 companies for labor environment improvement ▲1 company for infrastructure improvement ▲37 companies for work environment improvement.
The support targets and limits are ▲work environment for small-scale manufacturing companies with fewer than 50 employees (20 million KRW) ▲labor environment for small and medium manufacturing companies with fewer than 200 employees (40 million KRW) ▲infrastructure for SME-dense areas (700 million KRW).
To expand corporate support, the city has actively worked to relax related project requirements. Earlier, in July, Mayor Kim Kyung-hee of Icheon City requested Gyeonggi-do to relax the SME density requirement for infrastructure improvement projects from '5 or more' to '3 or more.' Gyeonggi-do reflected this request and will apply the relaxed regulations starting next year.
The city also relaxed and expanded the participation requirements for infrastructure improvement projects funded by its own budget from 5 or more to 3 or more starting next year. A city official expressed expectations that "with the relaxation of the density requirement, more companies will benefit from infrastructure support starting next year."
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi-do Corporate Environment Improvement Project targets will be finalized in December, and the project will proceed from January next year. The city’s own corporate environment improvement project plans to identify target sites by February 2025 and start the project from March.
