Changwon Facilities Corporation in Gyeongnam is implementing a comprehensive plan to overcome the low birthrate issue and address the population decline in the local community.

In August, the corporation formed a “Low Birthrate Response Task Force” led by the Head of the Management Support Office, focusing on the MZ generation, and has been communicating with the relevant departments of Changwon City to discover various measures to overcome the low birthrate.


This comprehensive plan was prepared to respond proactively to the social and economic problems caused by the low birthrate and to support Changwon Special City’s population increase policies.


The task force established 28 policy response tasks in three major areas to solve the low birthrate problem: ▲Creating a work-family balance culture (8 tasks) △Supporting marriage and childcare education (11 tasks) ▲Changing social awareness and efforts (9 tasks).


Key initiatives include ▲Creating family-friendly parking lots ▲Introducing a ‘Fast Track’ system where families with children and pregnant women do not have to wait ▲Establishing youth-specialized initiatives ▲Providing exercise counseling for pregnant women and InBody support for children ▲Arranging meeting opportunities for unmarried employees and corporation members ▲Operating flea markets for infant and child goods.


In particular, the corporation plans to balance employees’ work and family life while strengthening communication with the local community, and to develop and operate family-tailored programs utilizing various facilities such as sports, youth, and park facilities.


Director Kim Jonghae stated, “We will continue to lead the national effort to overcome the low birthrate crisis by creating a community that is good for having and raising children through more diverse policies and support.”
