Pre-Education on Health Promotion and Home Health Care Projects for 29 Nursing Students
The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 25th that it conducted an orientation for 29 nursing students from Sahmyook University and will deploy them for field training starting from the 28th.
This orientation was held to help understand various public health service projects such as chronic disease prevention and management, infectious disease prevention, and health promotion initiatives. The field training, conducted to advance citizen health promotion and nurture future healthcare professionals, is the last training session of 2024. The students are divided into three groups and the training will take place over six weeks from the 28th to December 6th.
The participating students will practice projects promoted by the Guri City Public Health Center, including community home nursing, oral health, nutrition (Nutrition Plus), physical activity, obesity prevention, smoking cessation and alcohol moderation, AI-based chronic disease management, dementia, and flu vaccination.
Meanwhile, the nursing student field training conducted since the first half of 2024 involved 121 nursing students from five universities, including Seoil University, participating in clinical practice.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “I am pleased that the cooperative project for nurturing future healthcare professionals is progressing smoothly,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to cultivate talent through a close cooperative system with local universities.”
