Pocheon City Opens Dog Playground... Providing a Cultural Space for Pet Owners A dog playground installed inside Pocheon Sports Complex.

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 28th that it held an opening ceremony for a dog park established within the Pocheon Sports Complex on the 25th.

The dog park project is one of Mayor Baek Young-hyun's campaign pledges for the 8th term of the Pocheon City administration. It was created to provide a space where dogs and their owners can enjoy leisure time together and communicate, as well as to foster a healthy companion animal culture.

The dog park, covering an area of 648㎡, is divided into zones for large dogs and for medium and small dogs. It is equipped with various convenience facilities, including shaded resting areas for owners and agility obstacle facilities for dogs.

The dog park will be open 24 hours a day until the end of November during the trial operation period, and will be closed every Monday. Owners aged 13 and older and dogs registered with animal registration can use the park free of charge, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian to enter.

A Pocheon City official said, “Based on the results of the trial operation, we plan to flexibly adjust the operating hours and methods. We hope the dog park becomes a safe space that provides enjoyable time for both owners and dogs, and we ask for the citizens' active interest and participation in creating a mature companion animal culture.”
