Gongju City in Chungnam announced on the 28th that it achieved sales of approximately 140 million KRW at the 51st LA Korean Festival held at Seoul International Park in Los Angeles, USA.
The city participated in this festival with an overseas market development team consisting of four companies: Sikyak Dongwon, Nonggae, Gongju Farm, and Hyowonjang.
These companies promoted and sold local agricultural specialty products through on-site marketing activities and buyer consultations, and conducted promotional activities for Gongju City's agricultural brand, 'Gomanaru.'
They also operated a joint booth, achieving total sales of approximately 140 million KRW and selling out their products.
In particular, through export consultation meetings with buyers, they are working on concrete cooperation with local companies to enter the US market, and are currently coordinating detailed schedules to supply products to local companies and home shopping channels.
The city believes that this achievement demonstrates the strong export competitiveness of local companies and agricultural specialty products, and plans to do its best to expand exports through bold support policies.
Mayor Choi Woncheol said, "The city is putting a lot of effort into helping local SMEs and small business owners find new markets overseas," and added, "We will actively support locally produced agricultural specialty products and goods so that they can achieve even greater success in overseas markets."
