Kyobo Life Insurance Holds Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference

Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 28th that it held the ‘2024 DEI (Diversity·Equity·Inclusion) Conference’ to support all members in realizing their potential.


The conference, held on the 25th at Kyobo Life Insurance headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, under the theme ‘Inclusion, Empathy, and DEI,’ was attended by about 270 employees from Kyobo Life Insurance, its affiliates, and corporate clients.


The DEI pursued by Kyobo Life Insurance is a culture that supports all individuals, regardless of gender, age, status, or religion, to be fully recognized as members of the organization and to grow by realizing their potential.


Since 2012, Kyobo Life Insurance has held related conferences 12 times. In 2022, the theme was expanded from the existing D&I to DEI by adding equity, continuing efforts to promote awareness change and cultural expansion.

In his welcoming remarks, Cho Dae-gyu, CEO of Kyobo Life Insurance, emphasized, “In a rapidly changing business environment, practical efforts toward DEI are urgently required for the company’s survival and growth,” adding, “A culture of diversity and mutual respect is directly linked to organizational competitiveness.”


He continued, “When members from different backgrounds create a culture of mutual respect and consideration, innovative ideas emerge, maximizing synergy,” and added, “I hope this conference will be an opportunity to actively practice DEI.”


At the conference, Professor Lee Jung-hak of Gachon University, Kim Young-ok, Head of Korea 3M, Lim Eun-chong, Manager at OB Beer, and broadcaster Tyler Rasch shared knowledge and experiences by expanding consensus on DEI and presenting various cases.


Kyobo Life Insurance also held events such as installing a photo wall and photo booth and providing healthy snacks so that attendees could commemorate and cherish memories of the conference.
