Opening of the New Yeongdeungpo-gu Singil 3-dong Community Center Building

Commencement of Operations at New Shingil 3-dong Community Center on 28th... Maximizing Accessibility for Residents
Opening Ceremony Held on 30th in Multipurpose Room of Shingil 3-dong Community Center... Celebrating a New Start with Residents

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will begin full-scale administrative operations at the newly relocated Shingil 3-dong Community Service Center building starting October 28.

The new Shingil 3-dong Community Service Center building is located within the Shingil AK Prugio (483 Gamasan-ro) mixed-use complex and consists of basement level 1 to the 3rd floor above ground. The community center occupies the 2nd floor above ground, with an exclusive area of 1,634.93㎡ (approximately 495 pyeong). Basement level 1 and the 1st and 3rd floors above ground will be used as common spaces.

The existing Shingil 3-dong Community Service Center, built in 1992, had been facing increasing maintenance costs due to aging facilities and safety concerns after 30 years.

Additionally, it had been consistently pointed out that its location in a narrow and densely packed residential area reduced accessibility for residents, and the cramped interior space caused significant inconvenience for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled.

In response, the district prioritized providing a comfortable environment considering residents’ convenience and swiftly proceeded with the construction of the new building through the public facility donation method of the Shingil AK Prugio mixed-use complex project.

The new building’s basement level 1 includes 18 parking spaces, the 1st floor above ground houses the lobby, and the 2nd floor above ground contains the community service center, district headquarters, and autonomous community hall. In particular, the district equipped the main workspaces on the 2nd floor with various convenience facilities for residents, such as a fitness room and multipurpose room, creating a complex community space where culture and leisure can be enjoyed beyond simple administrative functions.

Through this relocation of the community center, the district expects to provide improved administrative services in a more comfortable environment for local residents and plans to utilize the new building as an open space where residents can freely communicate and participate.

To commemorate the relocation, the district will hold an opening ceremony on October 30 at 3 p.m. in the multipurpose room on the 2nd floor of the new building. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, facility tours, congratulatory performances, and various programs to celebrate the new beginning with local residents.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “I am very pleased that with the opening of the new Shingil 3-dong Community Service Center, residents can enjoy administrative services in a more convenient and comfortable environment. We will continue to do our best to provide high-quality services that meet the diverse needs and expectations of residents and to make Yeongdeungpo a better place to live.”
