The Yangju City Community Security Council held the "2024 9th Term Yangju City Community Security Council Capacity Building Training" on the 24th in the city hall's main conference room. Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 25th that the Yangju City Community Security Council (Co-Chair Chae Jeong-seon) held the "2024 9th Term Yangju City Community Security Council Capacity Building Training" on the 24th at the city hall's main conference room.
This training was conducted to enhance the understanding of the roles of council members and responsible public officials, as well as public-private participation and cooperation, in the process of establishing, implementing, and evaluating the community security plan to promote community welfare.
On this day, a total of 57 participants, including city council members interested in the community security plan (9th term representatives, working council members, and working subcommittee members) and public officials responsible for detailed projects in the 2025 annual implementation plan, attended the training.
Led by instructor Kim Eun-ah (former head of the Regional Welfare Office at the Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation), the training under the theme "Understanding the Establishment of the Community Security Plan and the Annual Implementation Plan" provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the roles of public and private sectors and strengthen networks to explore development directions for the community security plan tailored to the characteristics of Yangju City.
In particular, prior to the ‘2025 Annual Implementation Plan Establishment Monitoring’ based on Article 35 of the "Act on the Use and Provision of Social Security Benefits and the Discovery of Beneficiaries," the training offered an opportunity to deepen understanding of the annual implementation plan, laying the groundwork for effective monitoring.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “The time has come to establish the 2025 annual implementation plan. A plan that does not involve the participation of social security sector managers and various community stakeholders will remain a formal plan lacking effectiveness. Although everyone is busy with various urgent tasks, I hope you remember that you are the main agents of the plan, and I ask you to make efforts to ensure the plan’s establishment, inspection, and result monitoring are properly carried out.”
Co-Chair Chae Jeong-seon said, “Understanding the roles that the public and private sectors must play while establishing the annual plan is the most important thing, so the council will continue to play various roles such as providing diverse training and networking opportunities to help develop community welfare. Change can only happen through participation. We ask for your active participation.”
