Pocheon City Holds Expanded Executive Meeting at Banwol Mountain Fortress Barefoot Trail to Discuss Current Administrative Issues

Pocheon City Holds Expanded Executive Meeting at Banwol Mountain Fortress Barefoot Trail to Discuss Current Administrative Issues On the 25th, Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon City, held the expanded executive meeting for October at Banwol Fortress Barefoot Trail and then walked along the Barefoot Trail.

Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced that it held the expanded executive meeting for October on the 25th at the Banwol Fortress Barefoot Trail.

This meeting was arranged to tour the site and exchange opinions on overall city administration, as the ‘Banwol Fortress Barefoot Trail Maintenance Project,’ a priority project of the Cheongseong Mountain Comprehensive Development Project that began construction last April, is nearing completion.

The Banwol Fortress Barefoot Trail is a forest path created along the 5th ridge of Cheongseong Mountain, connecting the Gunnae-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, Pocheon Hyanggyo Confucian School, and the area near Sansokgol in Sangseongbuk-ri. It consists of a total 3.1 km course, combining a newly established 1.64 km section and the existing 1.46 km trail.

On the day, Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon and executive officials walked the trail and expressed various opinions regarding major city issues and development directions.

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “Considering that the Barefoot Trail is located in a cultural heritage protection zone, only minimal structures have been installed, and the trail preserves nature as much as possible with features such as loess soil paving to minimize forest damage. The Cheongseong Mountain Comprehensive Development Project is an important pledge project to develop Cheongseong Mountain into a landmark representing Pocheon. We will promptly advance the project to complete a cultural leisure space that both citizens and tourists can enjoy.”
