‘Seoul-style Kids Cafe Yeongdeungpo Branch 2’, Grand Opening on 10.28, Full Operation from Nov 1
Camping Play Zone, Forest Theme Zone, Nature and Camping Concept... Designed to Fully Experience Nature
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced the opening of the ‘Seoul-style Kids Cafe Yeongdeungpo Branch No. 2’ in Singil 4-dong, a safe place where infants and toddlers can play freely, taking a step further toward becoming a ‘child-friendly city Yeongdeungpo.’
The ‘Seoul-style Kids Cafe’ is a ‘public indoor play space’ that can be used year-round at an affordable cost, unaffected by external factors such as weather and fine dust. In addition to the low usage fee, it is equipped with various play facilities tailored to different age groups to support children’s growth and talent development, making it very popular among caregivers.
Following the opening in Daerim 2-dong last year, the ‘Seoul-style Kids Cafe Yeongdeungpo Branch No. 2’ is located on the 3rd floor at 5, Singillo 40-gil, covering an area of 173㎡. It was remodeled from an existing communal childcare room to provide an optimal play environment and has been newly transformed into a Seoul-style Kids Cafe reflecting the concept of ‘Nature and Camping.’
The ‘Seoul-style Kids Cafe Yeongdeungpo Branch No. 2’ is designed to meet the eye level of infants and toddlers. Using light-emitting diode (LED) lighting, it creates a cozy atmosphere overall, and the interior is decorated in an eco-friendly way so that children can vividly experience nature through sight and touch. There are ‘Camping Play Zones’ and ‘Forest Theme Zones’ where children can experience camping and engage in role play.
Additionally, wooden models and animal dolls are placed throughout the space, and a separate area is provided where children can play role games with their parents.
A ‘playcare service’ is also operated to look after children on behalf of guardians who are unable to accompany them. Play materials and equipment are thoroughly managed by a professional disinfection company, and safety measures such as flame retardant treatment and corner protection have been meticulously implemented to ensure a safe environment.
The ‘Seoul-style Kids Cafe Yeongdeungpo Branch No. 2’ will hold an opening ceremony on October 28 and begin operations on November 1. It is available for infants and toddlers under 40 months old, with a usage fee of 3,000 won. There is no additional cost for guardians.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “We will continue to expand public kids cafes so that children can play safely near their homes without restrictions from weather or fine dust. We will spare no effort in supporting childcare to make Yeongdeungpo a happy place for both children and parents, and a city where having and raising children is easy.”
