Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 25th that it is recruiting small-scale Yeoju pottery manufacturers to mass-produce ceramic rice pots designed at the Yeoju Dojana Nal Center.

The ceramic rice pot, scheduled for release at the end of the year, is a microwaveable product developed by combining Yeoju's representative agricultural product, rice, with Yeoju pottery, which has a history of a thousand years. It is the first project product presented by the design development team of Yeoju Pottery's joint brand, Nal. The rice pot, which allows easy preparation of rice bowls using not only rice but also agricultural products such as mushrooms, eggplants, and sweet potatoes, combines tradition and modern practicality.

The recruitment target is pottery companies employing fewer than 10 regular workers within Yeoju City as of the announcement date, capable of mass-producing rice pots priced under 40,000 KRW using the jigearing technique. A total of three companies will be selected after suitability evaluation based on screening criteria. Interested companies can submit their applications by visiting the Yeoju Dojana Nal Center in person or via email. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on the 29th.

A city official stated, “We hope this project will enhance the brand value of Yeoju Pottery Nal through mid- to long-term collaboration with Yeoju pottery small manufacturers possessing mass production technology and contribute to revitalizing the Yeoju pottery industry ecosystem.”
