Guri City Supports Interest on Jeonse and Monthly Rent Loans for Newlywed Couples Without Housing '2024 3rd Round Interest Support Project for Newlywed Couples Without Housing for Jeonse and Monthly Rent Loans' Poster.

The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun), announced on the 25th that it will operate the '2024 3rd Support Program for Interest on Jeonse and Monthly Rent Loans for Homeless Newlyweds' targeting homeless newlywed couples in the city starting November 1.

This program aims to alleviate the housing cost burden for homeless newlywed couples to overcome low birth rates by providing support equivalent to 1% of the outstanding loan balance for jeonse and monthly rent loans from financial institutions, up to 1 million KRW annually, for a maximum of 7 years.

Eligible applicants must meet the following conditions as of the announcement date: ▲registered resident and leased housing address located within Guri city ▲within 7 years of marriage registration ▲combined household income at or below 180% of the median income ▲outstanding loan balance for housing jeonse or monthly rent loans from financial institutions at or below 200 million KRW.

However, those who have signed lease contracts with first-degree relatives or their spouses, borrowers of low-interest loans from the Housing and Urban Fund (such as the Beotimok loan), residents of public rental housing, recipients of livelihood, medical, or housing benefits, and beneficiaries of similar programs are excluded from support.

Applicants can visit their local administrative welfare center in their residential district to apply from November 1 to 11. Selected households will receive a payment equivalent to 1% of their loan balance (up to 1 million KRW per household) in December after document screening.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “We hope this program will help stabilize the housing situation for newlywed couples in the city who are experiencing economic difficulties.”
