According to the legal community on the 25th, the Criminal Division 4 of Changwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Ho-kyung) conducted a search and seizure of the home and office of Director A, the registered representative of the Mirae Hanguk Research Institute, this morning. Mr. A is the CEO of Mirae Hanguk Research Institute and recently stated in a media interview, "I only lent my name; the actual owner is Mr. Myung." He is a relative of former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-seon and served as Kim's aide in the 16th and 17th National Assembly sessions.

On the other hand, Mr. Myung claims that the Mirae Hanguk Research Institute is unrelated to him. During the last presidential election, the Mirae Hanguk Research Institute conducted 81 rounds of "customized opinion polls" for candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, and there are suspicions that Mr. Myung secured Kim's nomination in return.

Kang Hye-kyung, the former accounting officer for ex-lawmaker Kim who disclosed these allegations externally, appeared as a witness at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee hearing on the 21st and claimed, "Mr. Myung provided 'illegal opinion polls' to President Yoon in exchange for Kim receiving the nomination for the June 2022 by-election, and Mrs. Kim was involved in this process."

In connection with this, the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office summoned Kang for questioning on the 23rd.
