Kim Min-seok: "Yoon will endure even if approval rating drops to 0.1%... I believe he is preparing for martial law"

"Han Gi-ho - Shin Won-sik Text" Describes "An Enormous Situation"
"A Plan to Use Foreign Wars for Domestic Politics"
Democratic Party Announces 'Outdoor Rally' on the 2nd of Next Month

Kim Min-seok, a Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed that President Yoon Seok-yeol is deliberately provoking a crisis on the Korean Peninsula. He analyzed the current domestic situation as "very serious" and expressed concerns that martial law could be declared.

After attending the "Emergency Rally to Condemn the Yoon Seok-yeol Administration's War Provocation and New Northern Wind Campaign" held at the National Assembly Rotunda on the morning of the 25th, Kim told reporters, "I believe they (the government) are definitely preparing to create a war situation and link it to martial law." Referring to the text messages revealed the previous day between Han Ki-ho, a member of the People Power Party, and Shin Won-sik, the Director of the National Security Office, he pointed out, "What kind of private conversation is it when a four-star general who served as the chairman of the National Defense Committee in the National Assembly suggests to the National Security Office Director to start a war and exploit it?" The ruling party's National Defense Committee members dismissed the messages from Han to Shin, which urged attacking the North Korean military, as "private."

Kim said, "Both of these must be immediately cut off," adding, "If not, President Yoon must publicly apologize to the people right away." He continued, "This is an enormous situation right now," and said, "President Yoon will endure even if his approval rating drops not to 1% but to 0.1%." He also relayed the message from Kim Hyun-jung, a National Assembly member from Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, who inspected air-raid shelters. At the rally, she said, "The U.S. Forces Korea commander reportedly told the mayor of Pyeongtaek to inspect air-raid shelters to evacuate citizens," adding, "The greatest crisis has begun."

He stated, "The essence of the crisis is that this administration has actually planned to transfer the flames of foreign war to Korea and use it for domestic politics," and added, "Moreover, it is linked to the survival issue of First Lady Kim Geon-hee." Furthermore, he said, "Heaven helped expose the plan," and "From now on, they will become a disorganized group and wander about not knowing what to do."

Kim has claimed since last month that the government is preparing for martial law. He expects the government to escalate the crisis further around November 5, the date of the U.S. presidential election. The Democratic Party has announced it will hold a "National Rally to Condemn Kim Geon-hee" on November 2, three days before the U.S. election day.
