Beyonc? to Attend Texas Rally with Vice President Harris
Hillary Also Supported in Past... First Public Endorsement by Harris
Harris Campaign Features Eminem, Stevie Wonder, and More
American pop star Beyonc? will personally appear at a campaign rally for Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. On the 24th (local time), CNN reported, "Beyonc?, along with her mother Tina Knowles, will attend Vice President Harris's rally held in Houston, Texas."
Previously, Beyonc? allowed Harris's campaign to use her song "Freedom" and warned the Trump campaign that legal action would be taken if they did not stop using her songs. Although she had indirectly expressed support for Vice President Harris in this way, this is the first time she is actively participating in campaign activities. Beyonc?, who is from Texas, plans to support Vice President Harris's rally in her hometown with just over ten days left until the presidential election. Beyonc? also performed at a rally for then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election.
Texas is considered a Republican stronghold, often referred to as a "Red state" in the United States. However, with a total of 40 electoral votes, the second most after California, the Democrats cannot ignore it. Harris's campaign plans to focus on abortion issues here to garner support from female voters nationwide.
As the election campaign nears its end, Harris's campaign is mobilizing numerous celebrities. On the 22nd, rapper Eminem took the stage at a rally in Detroit, Michigan, and Stevie Wonder is also touring battleground states, performing roughly every three days. Rapper Usher, actors Julia Roberts and Jennifer Garner, film director Spike Lee, and country music singer Willie Nelson have also expressed their support for Harris. However, Taylor Swift, the pop star with the greatest influence in the U.S. currently, is not expected to participate in the campaign.
With the decisive day on November 5th approaching, Vice President Harris and former President Trump are engaged in a neck-and-neck race within the margin of error according to polls. According to a presidential poll released on the 23rd, conducted by U.S. economic media Forbes and polling agency HarrisX from the 21st to 22nd among 1,244 nationwide likely voters, former President Trump led Vice President Harris 51% to 49%.
However, a poll released by Bloomberg News on the same day, conducted from the 16th to 20th among 5,308 registered voters in seven battleground states, showed Vice President Harris (49.1%) slightly ahead of former President Trump (48.5%).
