Polaris Office Supports Korail's Digital Transformation... Establishing Centralized Document Solution for Public Institutions

Polaris Office's on-premise document centralization solution, developed based on its own engine, is gaining significant attention from enterprises and public institutions. One such solution is the all-in-one document collaboration tool called ‘Polaris Docs.’ This solution enhances work efficiency among team members by allowing multiple users to simultaneously edit, share, and manage a single document.

On the 25th, Polaris Office and Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced that they successfully supported company-wide digital innovation by adopting Polaris Docs. Through this implementation, KORAIL automated the entire process from document creation to compilation, greatly improving work efficiency.

With the goal of digital transformation, KORAIL introduced Polaris Docs to efficiently improve the previously complex document management procedures. Whereas each department used to create documents individually and manually compile them, now, through real-time document sharing and simultaneous editing features, they can efficiently manage not only standardized documents such as weekly work reports and budget reports but also periodic inspection performance reports.

In particular, the solution demonstrated a significant advantage by supporting various document formats such as MS Office, Hangul (HWP), PDF, and ODT, enabling all tasks to be performed on a single platform without separate conversions. Thanks to this, KORAIL employees were able to adapt easily without additional training, minimizing the burden of system adoption. This intuitive system enabled rapid company-wide utilization.

Security issues that could arise from collaboration tools were also addressed. Given KORAIL’s nature, which prioritizes security, the system was built on-premise within the internal network.

A KORAIL official stated, “We were able to improve the inefficient process of individually creating documents and repeatedly compiling and re-compiling them through Polaris Docs,” adding, “We highly evaluated the work efficiency aspect because the user interface is similar to the existing work environment.”

A Polaris Office representative explained, “As working styles change to ‘work from anywhere,’ ‘collaboration’ and ‘security’ have become important keywords for companies,” and added, “Not only work efficiency but also through this solution implementation, Polaris Docs has proven to be a document management solution suitable for large-scale organizations.”

They continued, “Based on on-premise cases, we plan to actively support not only digital transformation but also artificial intelligence transformation (AX) of companies by proposing generative AI-based solutions in the future.”

Meanwhile, Polaris Office plans to expand its business in business-to-government (B2G) and business-to-business (B2B) sectors based on office solutions equipped with various features such as software development kits (SDK) and AI office ‘Polaris Office AI.’
