Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok's Disputed Apgujeong Apartment Sold for 4.2 Billion Won

Broadcaster-turned-TV personality Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok are currently undergoing divorce proceedings and mutual infidelity lawsuits. It has been reported that they are in the process of selling an apartment in Apgujeong, which they previously owned, for 4.2 billion KRW. Recently released conversations between the two revealed conflicts over the disposal of the apartment, drawing public attention.

According to a report by Ddanjipgo on the 24th, Park Ji-yoon is currently in the process of selling a Hyundai 3rd Apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with an exclusive area of 82㎡, under her name for 4.2 billion KRW. The transaction has not yet been registered in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s actual transaction price system. This is because Apgujeong-dong is designated as a land transaction permission zone by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, requiring approval from the Gangnam District Office chief to trade apartments. It is reported that Park Ji-yoon and the buyer have submitted a land transaction permission application to the Gangnam District Office. If there are no issues, it is known that obtaining approval from the district office takes about one to two weeks.

Choi Dong-seok has placed a provisional seizure of 1.8 billion KRW on the apartment during the divorce proceedings. Although the apartment is solely under Park Ji-yoon’s name, it was purchased after marriage, and this appears to be a measure for Choi Dong-seok to assert his rights during the property division process in the divorce.

Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok were colleagues who joined KBS as announcers in the 30th class. After dating for four years, they married in November 2009 and have one son and one daughter. However, they announced their separation last October, after 14 years of marriage. Their ongoing divorce dispute has escalated into an unprecedented mutual infidelity lawsuit, turning into a messy battle.

During this process, KakaoTalk messages and recorded conversations revealing their disputes were made public through a media outlet. In the report, Choi Dong-seok demanded, "Sell the apartment quickly," while Park Ji-yoon responded, "It's not that I don't want to sell it. The loan interest is also coming out, so it’s a burden for me too," and "Why do you try to sell the Apgujeong house as you please? It’s under my name. Whenever divorce talks come up, do you always tell me to sell the Apgujeong house?"

Meanwhile, the Apgujeong Hyundai 3rd Apartment that Park Ji-yoon is selling was built in 1976 and is part of the Apgujeong 3rd district redevelopment project, along with nearby complexes such as Hyundai 1st to 7th, 10th, 13th, and 14th Apartments, and Daerim Villart.
