Donated 100 Million Won on Last Month's Birthday
RM, a member of the group BTS, donated 100 million won to the Veterans Fund, and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs sent a letter of appreciation.
According to the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs on the 24th, Minister Kang Jeong-ae stated in the letter, "As the leader of the world’s top group leading K-Culture and elevating South Korea’s status, RM’s admirable appearance fulfilling his military duty in uniform serves as a role model for many young people." She continued to express gratitude for RM’s donation to the Veterans Fund, saying, "It will be a great support to the national merit recipients who have devoted themselves to the country and the uniformed personnel who are protecting our safe daily lives even at this moment."
Minister Kang added, "I am deeply moved by RM’s meaningful consideration, based on respect and responsibility for the nation and society, to create a better world," and said, "The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will also strive harder to ensure that the seed of gratitude RM has planted will bloom into a culture of respect for uniformed personnel." She further wished, "I hope the rest of your military service will be filled with health and precious memories, and all veterans’ families nationwide and I will always support RM."
Earlier, RM donated 100 million won to the Veterans Fund through 'Everyone’s Veterans Dream' on his birthday, the 12th of last month. At that time, he said, "I personally feel the dedication of many people to the country on the front lines," and expressed his donation sentiment, "I hope this small help reaches all the heroes who are dedicating themselves to the country at this very moment, as well as many who have worked hard for peace."
Meanwhile, RM enlisted at the Army Training Center with member V on December 11 last year. He was selected as an elite trainee and received an award at the Nonsan Training Center graduation ceremony held on January 16. He is currently serving as a saxophone player in the military band of the 15th Infantry Division.
